INVESTING IN KNOWLEDGE

Premature pipeline failure can have devastating consequences. Our response was the pioneering of our state-of-the-art slurry pipeline testing facility in Perth.

This investment has allowed us to provide fundamental slurry characterization and design input, yielding quantitative insight into pipeline life expectancy and material selection. By leveraging our team’s knowledge and experience, our solutions are benchmarked against real-world applications of historical pipeline operations.

WEAR MODELLING FOR INDUSTRY BEST-PRACTICE

Understanding the wear characteristics of specific slurry and pipeline material combinations is vital to pipeline resilience. We define pipeline resilience as designing good materials into good projects and provide good value.

The effectiveness of a resilient pipeline infrastructure depends upon its ability to anticipate, absorb, adapt to and rapidly recover from a potentially disruptive event.  Fortin Pipelines is expanding best-industry-practice with capabilities to develop predictive erosion and corrosion modelling for pipelines.

In collaboration with Cosasco, an industry leader in pipeline corrosion monitoring, our facility will be able to assess both erosion and corrosion as a function of pipeline operating parameters and slurry characteristics.  This modelling will better inform material selection and overall resilience of slurry pipelines.
